Pandemic Virus Protection Systems Launch

The open source Pandemic Virus Protection Systems website (open-pvps.org) has launched and now contains numerous resources for developing open source and easy to mass produce a Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PAPR) for healthcare personnel on the front lines of COVID-19 and

future pandemics. Open-PVPS has open source plans, CAD files, and technical documents for the major components of a full PAPR including face shields, portable power regulation equipment, and replaceable coverings/drapes. We have done preliminary testing of these systems and have many ideas and plans for improvements and extensions. We are also looking for collaborators that can help improve the effectiveness, availability, and cost of these PAPR systems so every front-line COVID-19 healthcare worker can be equipped with significantly improved virus protection.
